EXPERIENCE
Laura Cereskaite-Kinciuviene has been practising law since 2003. While working in various Lithuanian and international law firms, she has gained valuable experience in aviation, shipping, and transport, as well as litigation and arbitration. Laura has been listed among the leading individuals for aviation and transport legal matters in Lithuania by the prominent legal directory Legal 500. The firm has enjoyed the top-tier acknowledgement by the legal ranking directory in the transport sector since 2016.
Laura’s clients are airlines, aviation leasing, asset management companies, and aircraft owners. She gives extensive advice on aircraft acquisition and financing, aircraft leasing, and repossession. Consultation is not limited to Lithuanian law advice, as the international nature of the transaction requires project structuring, tax advice, etc. AVERUS maintains a wide network of specialised aviation consultants that enables it to ensure high-quality advice to worldwide sector clients.
AVERUS permanent clients are also aircraft maintenance, components & spares trade, aviation engineering and design organisations. She was also working with aviation infrastructure projects while advising Lithuanian airports on airport and routes development and state-aid related questions.
Laura is also well familiar with the aviation insurance industry. She was advising industry clients in concluding aviation liability, aviation asset hull risk insurance contracts; representing insurance companies in claim management; negotiating with aviation underwriters in the event of a damaged asset.
Laura Cereskaitė-Kinciuviene is representing the clients in cross-border ship arrest and forced sale cases. The recent year was exceptional in terms of the growth of engagements. The advice involved the coordination of actions in 4 jurisdictions, the provision of expert legal opinion in a foreign court on Lithuanian and international shipping law.
For more than 10 years, Laura has been representing the clients before the Lithuanian courts and the Vilnius Court of Commercial Arbitration in various civil and administrative cases. Colleagues appreciate her for her creative strategic thinking and firm advice.
For a long time, Laura has been advising automotive, car rental and leasing companies in vehicle trade, registration, repossession, lease, financing, insurance, and other day-to-day questions.
Laura is a member of the ICC Lithuanian Transport Committee and an Incoterms 2010 expert. She is a permanent speaker at Incoterms 2010 seminars organised by ICC Lithuania for 6 years. She was awarded as “Lecturer of the year 2014” by ICC Lithuania in accordance with the results of the satisfaction voting of the audience.
Link to Germany has determined the formation of a German-speaking clientele. Laura has studied at Siegen University, and later on, she participated in training on German law organised by IRZ. In 2008, she worked in the Clifford Chance Munich office for almost a year. Laura has also worked for 2 years in the Rödl & Partner Lithuania office.
Laura fluently speaks English, German and Russian.
